Big Jazz II Speaker

Every designer by vocation wishes that at some point in their life their creation looks them in the eyes and moves them; Big Jazz II achieved this from the very first time it was calibrated and finished. It is undoubtedly the milestone of 40 years dedicated to and fascinated by the world of sound.

Like its little brother, it is entirely made of wood against birch veneer, an ideal material for its mechanical strength and lightness. There are many ways to build, and bonySound developed a particular one that allows for three-dimensional structural rigidity. Covered on the inside with pressed textile material and cushioned with pure sheep wool, its bass extends linearly and powerfully below 20Hz thanks to the combination with a double woofer with a spherical honeycomb cone made of Kevlar.

The midrange spectrum is reproduced with a ceramic cone speaker that delivers naturalness and detail, perfectly coordinated with the two woofers. The fine tuning of his element within the three-way system has been fundamental to the impressive result of the ensemble. In the Full Diamond version, the touch of definition and spatiality knows no measurable limits, with a diamond cone driver.

The high frequencies shoot out of the audible range, just like that, with an undeniable sense of spatiality and scene openness. Everything is clean, natural, sensational!

Technically, everything is in its place, mechanically adjusted, and reproducing the entire spectrum linearly, both within and beyond what we can feel.

All of the above is very well, but how does the Big Jazz II sound? I have no words, this creation can only be understood by being in front of it and letting it speak for itself. While writing this review, I am listening to Quobuz; "Reveries, Minnesota Orchestra, Eiji Oue, Reference Recordings," but if I close my eyes, my spirit is in that seat, in the front row.
